Surface Pattern Commissions and Art Licensing
Alongside my own wallpaper and printed collections, I undertake a small number of commissioned projects and selective art licensing partnerships each year.
My work is hand-drawn and rooted in tradition, storytelling, and craftsmanship – creating designs intended to feel timeless rather than of-the-moment. I work with interior designers, private clients, and brands looking for considered, characterful pattern and illustration.
Commissions
Bespoke pattern & illustration
Commissioned work may include:
-
Bespoke wallpaper designs
-
Custom colourways or adaptations of existing patterns
-
Surface pattern design for interiors or other categories
-
Illustrative work inspired by place, history, or narrative
Each project begins with conversation and research, allowing the design to grow naturally from context rather than trend.
Selected approach
I take on a limited number of commissions to ensure each project is given the time and attention it deserves. This allows for a slower, more thoughtful process – from initial sketches through to final artwork.
The process
1. Initial conversation – scope, intent, and suitability
2. Research & drawing – exploration, reference, and hand-drawn development
3. Refinement – working closely with you to shape the final design
4. Delivery – finished artwork prepared for its intended use
Art Licensing
Licensing partnerships
I love to work with others and am open to selective licensing opportunities where my work aligns naturally with the brand or product. This may include:
-
Wallpaper and interiors
-
Homeware and paper goods
-
Publishing and editorial projects
- Fabrics for clothing or interiors
Licensing is approached carefully, ensuring the work retains its integrity and context.

Portfolio
Welcome to my surface patterns portfolio, a place for me to share some of the patterns I’ve created.
This portfolio showcases a range of collections that reflect my passion for creating unique and timeless patterns, each with its own story and inspiration.
Here, you will find an array of projects that demonstrate my skills, creativity, and dedication to the art of pattern design.
All of the surface patterns shown below are available for licensing.

The beautiful, historic town of Emsworth with it’s listed Georgian buildings, and old fisherman’s cottages, is alive with sea based activity. Both humans and animals flock to take advantage of the stunning setting in part of Chichester Harbour. With a nod to the town’s once famous oyster beds, as well as some of today’s more modern practises, this surface patterns collection is inspired by just some of the things that my home town of Emsworth has to offer.
The Emsworth surface pattern collection has a coastal theme and is currently available in two colour ways – blue and ocean sunset. Throughout the collection, you can find patterns depicting water inspired motifs including boats, seaweed, seagulls, swans and waves.
The tingle of sun on the skin for the first time since the coldness of winter. The gentle blossoms dancing on the trees. The sweet juices of a ripe strawberry on the tongue. The rustle of fallen leaves and the patter of soft falling snow. All of these delight as we experience the passing of time and witness the beauty of new chapters beginning. Each season brings with it a renewed sense of awe and inspiration for this surface patterns collection.
Four Chapters is a surface pattern collection which draws on nature through the seasons. Available in two colour ways – Spring Summer and Autumn Winter you’ll find all the seasons depicted in this collection, from bluebells to strawberries, blossom, acorns and winter skeleton leaves as well as a glimpe of sun and snow in the various different patterns.
I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with any questions about my work, shop or with your ideas for a collaboration.
